A Seattle ISP VPS is a complete virtual server located in Seattle, Washington, with one dedicated public IPv4 address from the Astound/Wave network. Blossom labels that route Astound/Wave AS11404 so customers can identify the carrier and network behind the address before choosing a plan.
That matters because a server has two separate characteristics: its compute resources and its network identity. CPU, memory, storage, operating system, and administrative access determine what the machine can run. The public IP and the network announcing it determine how the server appears to outside services. A Seattle VPS can be perfectly capable as a development machine or remote desktop without having the same network identity as an ISP VPS. Conversely, an ISP-addressed VPS is still a server, not a proxy endpoint or a promise that every website will treat it in one particular way.

What AS11404 means
An autonomous system number, or ASN, is an identifier used in internet routing. Networks announce the IP ranges they operate through BGP, the routing system that helps other networks decide where traffic should go. AS11404 identifies the Astound/Wave network used for Blossom's Seattle ISP route.
In practical terms, the ASN gives a customer a concrete way to understand the address's network origin. Public IP databases and destination services may use ASN ownership, WHOIS data, routing information, historical address behavior, and their own internal signals when evaluating a connection. An address announced by an ISP network may be treated differently from one announced by a conventional cloud or hosting ASN.
That does not mean an ASN is a universal approval signal. Each destination decides for itself. It may consider browser and device signals, account history, geolocation, cookies, payment information, behavior patterns, and the reputation of the individual IP. Network identity is useful context, not a bypass for a destination's security or access rules.
ISP IP is not the same as residential
It is important to use the right language here. The Seattle product is an ISP VPS with a dedicated Astound ISP IPv4 address. It is not sold as a residential connection, a rotating residential proxy, or a shared NAT exit.
Each deployed VPS receives its own dedicated IPv4 while the service remains active. The server is a KVM virtual machine with its own operating system and administrative access. You can install software, run a development environment, use a remote desktop, or administer services just as you would on another VPS.
The distinction is relevant because some customers need a full server, not merely an outbound IP. A complete VPS provides a persistent environment, storage, root or administrator access, and the ability to control the software stack. Customers should choose the Seattle route because the Astound/Wave network and Seattle location are appropriate for their workload, not because a label is expected to override a third party's policies.
The Seattle network and storage design
The current catalog describes Seattle as an Astound/Wave ISP route with a 10 Gbps symmetrical host route and SSD-only storage. "Host route" is the important qualification. It describes the network connection available to the physical host, not a dedicated or guaranteed 10 Gbps reservation for every individual VPS.
Actual transfer performance depends on the remote endpoint, route, protocol behavior, concurrent activity on the node, and the workload itself. A speed test to a nearby well-provisioned server can measure something very different from a single download from a distant site. Customers who need a particular route or throughput result should validate it against their actual destination after deployment.
Seattle also uses SSD-only storage rather than the Washington route's split NVMe-and-HDD design. That makes the product straightforward to understand: the advertised storage for the Seattle tiers is SSD capacity, with no separate HDD data tier. The current Seattle ladder ranges from smaller 2 vCPU, 2 GB configurations through larger options, but live inventory and exact configurations can change. Use the ISP plans section for the current set rather than relying on a blog post as an inventory feed.
Seattle versus Washington, DC
Blossom's ISP line has separate routes, not one interchangeable pool. Washington, DC uses Verizon FiOS Business and is described as a gigabit route with NVMe plus HDD storage. Seattle uses Astound/Wave AS11404, is located on the West Coast, and has an SSD-only design with a 10 Gbps symmetrical host route.
The right choice depends on what you actually need. Choose Seattle when West Coast placement and the Astound/Wave network are the better fit. Choose Washington when the Verizon Business route and East Coast geography suit the workload. Choose a conventional datacenter VPS when compute value, storage, or general-purpose hosting matters more than an ISP-announced public address.
Neither route should be treated as permanently classified in exactly one way by every database. Third-party classifications can change as providers update their data and as individual addresses develop their own history. The useful claim is narrower: the route gives you a dedicated IP announced by the named ISP network at the time of service, alongside a full VPS environment.
A practical buying checklist
Before choosing a Seattle ISP VPS, ask four questions:
- Does the workload need a Seattle or West Coast location?
- Does it benefit from an IP announced by Astound/Wave rather than a conventional datacenter network?
- Do I need a complete server with administrative control, rather than a proxy service?
- Is SSD-only storage and the current plan size right for the application?
If the answer is yes, Seattle is a clear route to evaluate. Check current ISP availability and plans before ordering, then choose the carrier and location that actually match the workload. That is a more reliable way to buy infrastructure than chasing a label without understanding what sits behind it.
